Forensic Interviewing Protocols
Workshop Description:
Throughout the last 35 years, many forensic interviewing protocols have been developed based on practice and emerging research. Most of these protocols are based on the same body of research with variations. Many protocols are also very similar! In this workshop, you will learn the history of child abuse investigations just prior to the emergence of forensic interviewing protocols and how that history has shaped what we do. Multiple protocols will be discussed in their similarities and variations. Lastly, learners will briefly acquire skills to work within a MultiDisciplinary trained in varying protocols

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this training, learners will be able to:
Understand the history of child abuse investigations and how that history shaped the protocols we use today
Understand and be capable of recognizing the major Forensic Interviewing protocols used by professionals
Learn similarities and variations between common protocols
Identify tools for the Multi-Disciplinary team to work together even when trained in varying protocols
