Recognizing and Protecting Youth from On-Line Exploitation

As adults it is imperative for us to understand grooming behaviors that are meant to harm youth, recognize behaviors in young people that may indicate distress and most importantly take measures to intervene and support youth when they may find themselves in an overwhelming situation.

 

Objectives:

  • Identify the terms and actions such as CSAM, Sexting and Exploitation

  • Recognize factors that may increase the risk of harm for youth

  • Describe grooming behaviors used to manipulate

  • Establish talking points for prevention and intervention with youth
