Scholarship Information

Please note our funding for scholarships is allocated on a fiscal calendar which expires June 30, 2025. We are hopeful that this grant will be renewed but cannot approve scholarships currently.

In the meantime, we are starting a waitlist for scholarship applications received for the July Basic Forensic Interviewing Course . This list is based on date received.

Please fill out and send the scholarships as instructed and we will add you to the waitlist. We will notify you of the funding decision as soon as we hear.

Thank you for your interest in attending training at CornerHouse! The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) funds a limited number of scholarships for MDT members in the state of Minnesota that cover the cost of the fee CornerHouse charges to provide this training. Scholarships are available for Minnesota professionals that conducts or are involved in the use of child abuse forensic interviews on behalf of a county, local and Tribal agency responsible for the investigation and prosecution of child maltreatment allegations.

The following information applies to Basic, Advanced, and Vulnerable Adult scholarship applications only:

Scholarship recipients are responsible for any and all other costs of attending this trainings including travel, lodging, some meals and any other incidental expenses. Scholarship recipients are also responsible for a $200 non-refundable registration fee. The fee is only charged if the applicant received and accepts the scholarship.


Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria:

  1. Scholarships are available for Minnesota professionals that conducts or are involved in the use of child abuse forensic interviews on behalf of a county, local and Tribal agency responsible for the investigation and prosecution of child maltreatment allegations..

  2. A complete, timely application form. Applications that are incomplete or late will not be considered.

  3. Application does not guarantee space in a course. Please refer to the training calendar to include and rank your dates of choice “First, Second', Third”.

*On-Site Basic scholarship dollars up to $2,000 are used to support agencies/jurisdictions in hosting the CornerHouse On-Site Basic Forensic Interview Training.

Please provide specific numeric data and descriptive information for your county, jurisdiction or service area that demonstrates the need for scholarship dollars. Numeric data should/can include state or DHS maltreatment reports, number of children or families served, number of child abuse, sexual assault, juvenile investigations, case load, forensic interviews conducted, crime data/reports or additional statistics. Descriptive information should consist of how additional staff trained in the CornerHouse Protocol will impact and improve services to children, adolescents and vulnerable adults who may have experienced or witnessed abuse.
